Bitiron T3/T4 Mix (50mcg/12.5mcg)

What is Bitiron and what is it used for?

BITIRON is available in blister packs of 50 and 100 tablets.

BITIRON contains L-thyroxine sodium (T4) and L-triiodothyronine sodium (T3) as an active substance and is a group of drugs called thyroid hormones.

The BİTİRO;

• Treatment of growth of thyroid gland and thyroid hormone deficiency (prolonged thyroid hormone deficiency and excessive decrease in body temperature, myxedema called congenital retardation of iodine deficiency)
• In order to suppress the thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) secreted from the pituitary,
• When the thyroid gland is underdeveloped and the thyroid gland is partially or completely incomplete,
• In the thyroid suppression test,
• In order to prevent recurrence after surgery,
• Thyroid hormone deficiency caused by the normal functioning of the thyroid gland,
• Inflammation of the thyroid gland,
• It is used in thyroid hormone deficiency due to pituitary or hypothalamus diseases.

• How to use Bitiron?

  Your doctor will adjust the dose depending on what you are using BITIRON for.

  In the treatment of simple goiter, inflammation of the thyroid gland and postoperative recurrence, treatment is started with 1 tablet per day and the dose can be increased to 4 tablets per day.

  In case the thyroid hormone is produced less than necessary in the body, it should be started with half a tablet and it should be increased quarter tablet every 2-3 weeks. At the end of the first four weeks of your treatment, your doctor may re-adjust the dose according to clinical and laboratory tests.

  Application route and method

  Always use BITIRON exactly as instructed and advised by your doctor. If you are unsure of this, have your doctor or pharmacist confirm the use.

  Tablets should be swallowed with a glass of water without chewing.

  Different age groups

  Use in children

  One and a half (1 VI ) tablets per day for adults older than 12 years

  1 - VA tablet per day, for children aged 6-12

  For children aged 1 -5 years - 1 tablet per day,

  ¹ A - ³ A tablets per day for children from 6 to 12 months

  Day for children aged 0-6 months ^] - VI tablets.

  In children with congenital thyroid hormone deficiency, treatment should be started immediately and continued without interruption. If the patient is 3 years old, the drug should be discontinued for 2-8 weeks and re-evaluated by the physician.

  Use in the elderly

  It is used according to the dose recommended by the doctor without any dosage adjustment in the elderly.

  Special use cases

  Renal / Liver failure: If you have renal / hepatic dysfunction, no special dosage adjustment is required except for the dose recommended by your doctor.

  Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of BTIRON is too strong or too weak.

  If you use more BITIRON than you should

  In case of overdose the dose should be reduced or treatment should be discontinued. In cases of acute overdose; gastric emptying, oxygen delivery, application of cardiac glycosides, propranolol can be used.

  Talk to a doctor or pharmacist if you have used more of BITIRON than you should.

  If you forgot to use BITIRON

  Take it immediately when you remember. If the time of the next dose is close, do not take it and continue with your regular dose schedule. Ask your doctor if you have any questions about how to use it.

  Do not take double doses to compensate for forgotten doses.

  Effects that may occur when treatment with BITIRON is terminated

  Even if you feel good, do not stop taking BITIRON unless your doctor tells you to stop taking the drug. Your doctor will tell you how long you should continue using these tablets.

  
  

  What are the possible side effects?

  Like all medicines, people who are sensitive to the ingredients of BITIRON may have side effects.

  Stop using BITIRON if you have any of the following and immediately tell your doctor or contact the emergency department of your nearest hospital

• Hypersensitivity reactions (swelling of hands, feet, wrists, face, lips, or particularly swelling of mouth or throat making it difficult to swallow or breathe, skin rash)

If you have one of these, you have a serious allergy to BITIRON. You may need immediate medical attention or hospitalization. '

'All of these very serious side effects are very rare.'

If you notice any of the following, tell your doctor:

• Tremors,
• Irritability,
• Difficulty sleeping,
• Depression
• Headache,
• Fatigue
• Numbness
• Weakness
• Inflammation of the eye due to reduced tears
• Appetite change,
• Weight increase,
• Excessive sweating,
• Drying of the skin
• Itching
• Hair loss
• Increased sensitivity to heat,
• Increased or irregular heart rate
• Increase in blood pressure
• Chest pain or shortness of breath.
• Joint pain
• Muscle pain
